Welcome, Visitors!
Come and See!
“Come and See!” It’s a familiar refrain to us all. Think of a time when you called out to someone- “You’ve gotta come and see this!”
Last spring, Bruce Rosand scattered
black-eyed Susan and cone flower seeds in garden beds along the front and side of his home. On a recent summer evening, those vibrant flowers tall and in full bloom inspired Bruce call to his wife, Trudy, “come outside and see”!
A co-worker of my husband came into the office one day
before the end of her maternity leave to introduce her eight-week old daughter. Word spread quickly through the cubicles to come and see Susan’s beautiful baby, and soon an admiring crowd had formed around them.
Megan Gronholm is learning the art of cooking at the Art
Institute International Minnesota. She regularly brings home delectable samples of her homework. Her mom, Jeanne, tells me this week Megan will arrive home with an invitation to “come, see and sample” candy caramels, English toffee and peanut brittle. Mmmmmm!
I’m excited for Rally Day and I want everyone to come and see what’s happening here in September. We’ve got folks
outdoing one another to welcome and invite everyone with new worship, engaging learning, and adventurous outreach!
There’s so much to come and see and be a part of. What will you tell your family and friends? Our Rally Day theme, from the Gospel of John, says that everyone who met Jesus, was changed for good, and came away eager to tell others about Jesus, his way of living, his kindness, his love for everyone.
Think of inviting someone to come and see Jesus kind of like the way Jim’s co-workers crowded with joy around the tender sight of a newborn infant; or how you were captured by the miracle and beauty of watching flowers grow from seed to their full stature and glory; or how Jesus feeds you a meal that satisfies your soul.
John the Baptist told people to come and see Jesus the
Messiah. John told his disciple Andrew, who brought his brother Peter, who went to Phillip, who found his co-worker Nathaniel and told him “You’ve got to come and see for yourself!”
We’ve each got a story to tell about meeting God’s Son, about seeing his graciousness, his goodness; about being changed for life by his life given for us. Tell your friends to “Come and See”!
