The Vision of Small Groups
Ongoing and New
We’re off to a great start! Small groups are growing at Maple Grove Lutheran, and participation in many of our existing small groups, Bible studies and fellowship events is on the rise. I am thankful for our team leaders who organize, invite, coordinate, teach and lead. Through small groups our relationship with Christ is deepened and our fellowship with each other grows.
I am convinced the health of our congregation depends on this. Working together in mission and our shared faith in Christ will strengthen us individually and collectively. We will flourish with each bond of friendship and fellowship made as we serve, and worship, and pray, and study, and play together, in Christ our Lord.
Our Steering Team is excited to share the vision and goals with small group leaders, committees, teachers, teams, and everyone else who is interested in growing our congregational life together.
We are created by God to live in community and in the power of the Holy Spirit. Through grace-filled relationships, we trust that the friendship, love, compassion and peace of our Lord Jesus Christ will transform us to reflect His kingdom.
This vision will be incorporated into small groups through five purposes:
We connect through faith
We encourage through fellowship
We support through prayer
We accomplish through listening
We grow through love and servant hood
To bring everyone on board with this vision, small group leadership training will be offered Thursday, April 3, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Dinner is provided, and child care is available. Participants will receive resource books that are full of helpful information and ideas to create successful small groups.
Training events will be offered several times each year to evaluate group experiences, share ideas, and update skills. To register, please RSVP to revchiles@mglc.org for the April 3 training event.
In Christ,
Pastor Chris
