Church…it’s not what you expect.

If you visit … don’t expect to find ‘members’.

Instead, expect to find seekers, learners, imitators, followers, and doers for Jesus, who already gave us everything we need - the greatest ‘member’ privilege - new life now and everlasting life to come.  It cost him everything, and he gave it to us free. We just want to know more about Him, how we can live this life He is giving us, and share it with others.

Expect to get connected to God and people.

Be part of a community of friends who will become like family.  Then, expect to offer your friendship to others, just as Jesus invited and welcomed all people.

Jesus welcomed them, and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who needed to be cured.  -Luke 9:11

I call you friends  -John 15:15

Expect to be useful…to God and others.

That’s your real purpose in this life. You’ll be affirmed in the gifts you have and encouraged to share them. And for starters - everyone has this one gift to share - Divine Love.

God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another. -1 Peter 4:10

And the greatest of these is love. -1 Corinthians 13:13

Expect to grow.  Expect to change.

When was the last time you really grew?  When was the last time you really changed?

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. -Romans 12:2

Really…we don’t know all God has in store for you…except we’re already praying for you and expecting you.  So what are you waiting for?
