New Veggie Tales Worship: Getting to Know God
Kingdom Kids for 10:45 am Worship Beginning January 8
Families worshiping at our contemporary service at 10:45 am are invited to register children ages 3 through 4th grade (5th & 6th graders are encouraged to serve as helpers) for a new church school being offered. Sign-up and begin January 8! Children start in worship in the Sanctuary with parents: after the Children's Message, they will head to the Children's Ministry area for lessons, crafts and stories using a new Veggie Tales curriculum. Kingdom Kids Focus #1 Sundays and Wednesdays
Rotational teaching actively engages children in learning and brings Bible Stories to life through:
- Drama
- Crafts
- Puppets
- Games
September to May: Ages 3 years (by Sept. 1, 2011) to 6th grade
- Sunday 9:00am—10:00am
- Wednesday 6:45pm—7:45
June to August Sundays at 9:30am.
Focus #2 Firefly Club
Fireflies is a wonderful way to bring God’s Word into the lives of children through memorization of verses and Bible Study. We supply the materials for the children to bring back into their homes and work with the parents. This done at their own pace while learning as a family. A loving Firefly Staff is available when children are here on Sunday and Wednesday.
The age that this program begins is when a child is old enough to talk. We’ve had ones as young as 18 months. They will carry God’s Word in their hearts forever to guide them in their life.
Focus #3 Elementary Retreats
Retreat themes bring Jesus' teaching to where kids are at in their daily lives.
3rd Grade: “What Would Jesus Do” in circumstances in their lives.
4th Grade: Learn the Fruits of the Spirit.
5th Grade: Gain the Bible's perspective on self-esteem, peer pressure, and relationships.
6th Grade: Jesus is Real, Armor of God, Choices, Family Relationships.
Our next retreat for 3rd & 4th grade is March 4/5, 2012.
Focus #4 Kid Missions
Our children share God's love through service:
- ELCA Malaria Campaign
- CROSS - Christians Reaching Out in Social Service
- Mitten Tree
- FACIC - Families Advocating for Children In Crisis
- Missionaries to Japan
Stepping Stones of Faith in the lives of our children through:
- Baptism
- 2nd Grade Bible Workshop and Presentation
- 1st Communion Family Workshop and 1st Communion Sunday.
In our ministry to children we strive to show God’s love through our living example. We are here to partner with parents, guiding their children to a closer walk with Jesus.
