Mission to the Dominican Republic (Mission 2 DR)
Since 2002, MGLC has had a mission partnership with Light and Light Church and School in the in Villa Esfuerzo, Dominican Republic.
Many thanks for the generous special appeal for the Light and Life Church and school in the Dominican Republic on April 13. There was $1,095 raised with the funds to be used for curriculum and books for the library. Pastor Firo from the D-R spoke at the 9:30 a.m. service on April 13 with Christine Grimley interpreting. Pastor Firo expresses his sincere appreciation and thanks for the donation as currently the primary way of communicating a class lesson is chalk and a blackboard. MGLC was able to help Pastor Firo with his travel expenses to visit partner churches and World Servants in Minnesota. It's gratifying to support our mission partnership.

Top 10 reasons to go on a Mission Trip to the Dominican Republic
1. God is asking me. Are you sure that you are listening?
2. I can afford it. If not, trust that God will provide.
3. There are not many bugs. This is true! More bugs will bother you in your own backyard on a typical evening than a week in the Dominican Republic.
4. I have plenty of vacation time. One week is all you need. Have any of your past vacations filled you with the joy and peace that can only come from time spent doing God’s work totally away from life’s distractions?
5. I have a caring heart. There are a variety of talents and abilities each of us has that God will use.
6. The food is great! All right, most of the food is great. Some is average.
7. It is not cold in the Dominican Republic. It is just right. All right, it can get a little hot.
8. I love to fly. If you do not like to fly, I will hold your hand.
9. It just sounds great. I was scared of many parts of the trip. Was I capable? Was I qualified? Surely not. Relax, God is in charge.
10. God is asking you. What are you waiting for? Will you go?
