Pastor Durk opened the meeting with prayer and a reading from Deuteronomy.
The Steering Committee gave an update on the sale of our land on Fernbrook Lane. The broker is in conversation with several parties. Continue to keep this process in your prayers.
Minutes from the October meeting were approved.
Sandy Hahn, the new Office Manager, was introduced to the council.
Sandy and Steve Wagner gave a budget update. All committee chairs are asked to attend the December council meeting. We would like to see their proposed budgets and hear the passion and reasons for their requests.
Steve Wagner gave the financial update. October offerings were close to budget. We are behind YTD budget versus actual by about $26,000. Our expenses are under control and we are ahead on Personnel about $25,000 net. We are 1.9 million in debt on our current property.
Discussed the generous donation of stock and the need to remind people to let us know it’s coming so transaction can be handled properly. Contact Sandy Hahn if you wish to make a stock donation.
Sandy has been reviewing our insurance coverage. All is in order, but we agreed to add Directors and Officers liability coverage at a cost of under $200 per year.

Council approved the appointment of Candi Burns-Anderson as the Discipleship Committee Chair. She will be completing a three-year term. Terry Henderson was also appointed to the Operations Committee Chair finishing a one-year term. All approved this motion. We are thankful for these willing servants and look forward to serving with them.
Council approved two fundraising requests - one for Jordan New Life to help with Christmas gift-wrapping and another to support the MGLC 2007 Summer Youth Mission Trip.
Personnel, Pastor Durk and members of the Communication team interviewed three candidates for the Communications Coordinator position. Jennifer Klitzke was the candidate recommended for the 10 hour a week position. Council approved this recommendation.
Council regretfully accepted the resignation letter of Ruth Blom as our Children’s Ministry Director effective December 31, 2006. We wish Ruth Godspeed as she takes on a new role in Clinton, Iowa. Letters will be sent to the congregation. Personnel Team will meet to discuss how to proceed.
